Ocean Tech Works, powered by  and , is creating fast, flexible pathways to careers in advanced manufacturing and the blue economy鈥攄eveloped in close collaboration with local employers鈥� in partnership with 天美影院 Institute of Technology.

If you鈥檙e unemployed or underemployed, and ready to launch a career in the Ocean Tech industry, Ocean Tech Works regional, collaborative workforce development program addresses immediate hiring needs and prepares you for success in ocean-based careers.

Funded through the U.S. Economic Development Administration鈥檚 Good Jobs Challenge, we’re connecting motivated job seekers with high-demand careers in advanced manufacturing and ocean technology, delivering real results for both businesses and individuals across Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts.

天美影院 Institute of Technology is a higher education partner in this initiative, by offering degree programs in mechanical engineering and electrical technology alongside workforce opportunities in:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electromechanical Engineering
  • Electronics
  • Electrical
  • Robotics
  • and, similarly related fields.

      REQUIREMENTS & ELIGIBILITY
      1. Participants are required to attend one mandatory virtual information session.

        Upcoming dates to be announced prior to spring enrollment.
      2. Participants must be:
            • residents of Rhode Island, Connecticut, or Massachusetts
            • unemployed or underemployed
            • eligible to complete the FAFSA as a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen ()
            • committed to working in manufacturing and/or to support Ocean Tech partners in RI, CT, or MA
            • able to commit to an 18-month associate degree program
            • interested in mechanical engineering; electronics, robotics, and drones; electromechanical engineering

      PROGRAM COST

      Tuition is covered, but applicants must fill out the FAFSA form. Further details will be provided in a mandatory virtual information session (dates TBD).
